The Company specializes in Hydraulic Transmission Systems for marine and industrial applications using the Voac/Parker Hannifin F11 / F12 / F1 range of piston pumps and motors. We manufacture our own hydraulically operated Bow Thrusters used primarily in canal craft. We also distribute Teddington Controls Ltd range of Pressure and Temperature Switches. The Company is based in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, UK.

We started selling marine engines to Broads Hire Boat companies in 1969. It soon became clear that a hydraulic transmission system would give major benefits to both the hire companies and to the hirers, by allowing more freedom to the designers. The transmission allowed the engine to be placed anywhere in the boat, thus allowing more room where it was needed. We built our first marine hydraulic transmission in 1970, using the Volvo/Voac F11 series of piston pumps and motors; it was fitted into a hire boat in the same year and is still in operation on the Norfolk Broads today.

Over the past 36 years, various developments have taken place, twin screw systems driven by one engine for catamarans, round the world racing yachts found hydraulics ideal, as it allowed them to place the engine where it could give the boat the best trim and many other systems designed to use hydraulic power for Bow Thrusters, Generators, Winches and other lifting devices using rams, all from one power source.

As sales of hydraulic systems became more widespread, so the requirements changed. We introduced the variable flow pump to both commercial and private boats, (this is the equivalent to having a variable pitch propeller), this pump allows for greater control on larger craft. We also sell the Oildyne range of electric mini pumps, these are ideal for operating Trim Tabs and rams for all purposes.

We also produce our own hydraulic Bow Thruster, mainly used on narrow boats and Barges on the canals. We are a main marine hydraulic distributor for Parker Hannifin, handling the VOAC/VOLVO range of products. Over the past 30 years the name on the product and its numbers may have changed, but our principal of always using the

F11 /F12/F1 high efficiency piston pumps and motors is still the same today as it has always been.
